Spirally ornamented capillitium with frayed/penicillate ends. (Not sure of any other species that have this character - ID was based primarily on the thread ends - corrections are welcome). Fruiting inside sloughed bark of a Doug fir snag.

In wood chip landscaping. Mild mushroom odor and flavor. Cap extremely viscid!

Probably on the remains of Lactarius deceptivus.
Easternmost observation currently posted. Hughes et al 2001 only lists collections from the Western USA.
