Estas arañas son depredadoras activas que cazan presas, saltando sobre ellas en lugar de tejer una red para atrapar alimentos. Su visión es excepcional entre las arañas, y pueden detectar movimientos rápidos, lo que les facilita cazar insectos voladores.

es una araña de aprox, 2 o 2.5 cm,presenta una mancha en color blanco en el centro del abdomen, rodeada de manchas negras y patas ligeramente rayadas con color negro. Los quelíceros son de color verde metálico. El cefalotorax es blanquecino. y todo su cuerpo esta cubierto de vellos.
Breve descripción de lo que observaste
Estas arañas saltarinas habitan en mi jardín. He notado que toman territorios cercanos a donde tienene su "nido" que consiste en una especie de tunel corto hecho de telaraña como si fuera una bolsita donde duermen. En este caso pueden apreciar dos individuos diferentes que hicieron su casa en tubos pvc. El tamaño adulto es de unos 2cm. He notado que las pequeñas van dispersandose y tomando "territorios" no se si los defienden, pero en macetas y eso donde hacen su residencia.
Parecen ser Paraphidippus aurantius,pero en las fotos que he visto no lucen tan peludas. estas tienen unos 4 mechoncitos de pelo muy visibles sobre el cephalotorax.

"Carapace: Integument blue-black. AER fringe yellow. Post-PME tuft about 2x width of AME. Median ocular band yellow, complete, or absent. Posterior ocular band iridescent. Cheek expansion present. Submarginal band yellow, broad from behind PME to thoracic slope. Cheek band white. Marginal band a narrow line from clypeus to PLE. Clypeus fringe white. Chelicerae completely fringed with gray.
Leg I: Fringes all yellow, short to medium in length except femur and tibia ventral fringes long. Femur with black dorsal subproximal tuft; prolateral stripe yellow; prolateral distal band yellow; ventral stripe yellow. Patella and tibia prolateral scale cover yellow entire length. Metatarsus and tarsus entirely covered with yellow scales. Tarsus integument pale proximally, dark distally, or entirely pale.
Abdomen: Basal band white or yellow, sometimes encircling dorsal edge of abdomen to spots IV. Entire dorsum covered with short gray setae, color similar to female or dark blue-black like carapace. Venter black with white stripe each side and black ventral fringe edged laterally with white."
