While working in the backyard I noticed about 8 Eastern Bluebirds checking out a Bluebird box. They would each take a turn and fly up to the hole and look in, fly away and they would all chatter to each other. I commented to Dad that I wish I knew what they were talking about. I assumed they were checking out the box as a roost spot for the night. This evening I thought I'd check the box before dusk and clean it out if need be. I opened the box and discovered a little flying squirrel. Perhaps that was what the Bluebirds were discussing? Someone had taken their spot!
