Growing on soil, in the shady, grassy area under trees alongside the stream and near banks of the Barwon

But the distribution is wrong - only been collected from one place but recorded from others on inat. May be just poorly known. Seems like it should be a different Bartramaiaceae but others don't fit as well. e.g. leaf seems too large for B hampeana, too long and pointy for Breutelia.

Paleoendemic moss - just Tasmania. Found in frankland, Gordon rivers, tayatea bridge Arthur river, but not at kannunah bridge. Huon river at tahune
Grows on edge of river hanging off rocks, reproduces asexually through clones breaking off down river.

Low grade metamorphic Ordovician sedeiments- clay and interbedded silts.

Formerly known as Eurhynchium praelongum. Image 3 shows the spine or tooth at the end of the costa as frequently seen on branch leaves. Images 4, 5 and 6 are stem leaves and images 7, 8 and 9 are the differently shaped branch leaves. Images 10 and 11 show the denticulate margins and some cell details. Similar in appearance to a Thuidium however the denticulate margins and different cell structure separate the genera.

Several-stemmed tree of poor form, to 6 metres tall. Bark rough throughout, hard-fibrous and moderately to finely fissured, grey. Leaves distinctly discolorous, dull and dark green above. Common just here, on moderate easterly slope of laterite in low open forest of Corymbia calophylla and Eucalyptus marginata subsp. marginata.

Many-trunked tree-mallee 4 metres tall. Bark smooth throughout, flaky, white-pink over cream. Leaves slightly glossy, light green. Growing on lateritic mesa above breakaway with Eucalyptus todtiana.
