Hi, my name is Kyle! I'm a 25 year old self-proclaimed naturalist!

I'm a graduate of Garrett College where I earned my Associates Degree in Natural Resources and Wildlife Technology. I then went on to Frostburg State University to finish my Bachelors Degree in Wildlife Biology.

Work:

  • 2014 I started my career working for Maryland Fisheries Service through a grant focusing on Brook Trout surveys.
  • 2015-2017 I spent with the Maryland State Parks as a concession stand attendant the 2 years as a lifeguard.
  • 2018 I worked for the Maryland Forestry Service as a forestry technician in Savage River State Forest.
  • 2019 I worked as the lead bobcat research technician for the University of Delaware doing scat sampling, hair snare and camera trap surveys.
  • 2020 I worked for Garrett College and Eastern West Virginia Community and Technical College as a natural resource technician focused on wetland plant surveys and wetland reclamation.
  • 2020-2022 I started working for a former college professor where I ran a Northern Saw-whet Owl banding station.
  • 2021 I worked as a avian point count technician for West Virginia University doing game bird, breeding, and post-breeding songbird surveys in the Monongahela National Forest.
  • 2022-2023 I worked for the University of Maryland as a naturalist for 4-H campers across the state.

Hobbies:

  • Birding
    I spend most of my time birding mostly in western Maryland, but I love traveling all over the United States!

  • Herping
    In the unfrozen months I find myself looking for reptiles and amphibians mostly in my local area. I do have a Youtube channel dedicated to my herping adventures! Here's my channel if anyone wants to subscribe!
