He received his Master's and PhD degrees from the University of Helsinki in Finland and works on the monumental project “The Lichen Flora of Iran” at the ICH herbarium. His current position is the curator of the Iranian Lichen Museum. Among his responsibilities is coordinating and building the infrastructure for the lichen flora of Iran, which includes the Herbarium, Chemistry, and Molecular Phylogeny Labs. Further, he supervises numerous graduate students.
