Observations on Gleditsia triacanthos in Berlin I - Penestragania apicalis
Penestragania apicalis is a leafhopper (Cicadellidae, subfamily Iassinae) native to the Nearctic first confirmed to have spread to Europe in 2012 and soon found in Austria, France, Germany and Switzerland. I noticed that all 3 nymphs I observed so far were sitting on a leaf's underside right next to the petiole/rhachis of the compund leaf and the 2 I observed on this day tried to flee onto and down that petiole

Sadly I seem to have injured this one when I turned the leaf, as this looks like a new bleeding
