I have always been interested in the natural world, and I graduated with a major in biology from CSU Sacramento. After graduation, I was employed, first, as a Sacramento County Parks ranger, then, as a California State Park Ranger for 6 years. For the last 27 years of my working life, I was employed as a Wildlife Biologist for the California Department of Fish and Game. I retired in 2007 and began pursuing photography, with the capture of plants, animals, and natural communities as my primary interests.
