PPG I follows Ebihara et al. (2006) in separating the Abrodictyum clade from Trichomanes sensu lato. Abrodictyum boninense Tagawa & K.Iwats. and Abrodictyum kalimantanense (K.Iwats. & M.Kato) are unplaced names in POWO, and therefore not mapped here, although POWO considers Trichomanes boninense Koidz. a synonym of Trichomanes latealatum (Bosch) Christ. POWO also lumps Abrodictyum meifolium and Abrodictyum parviflorum into Trichomanes parviflorum, which are treated as distinct here and in Ebihara et al. (2006).

This deviation maps only the Abrodictyum clade to save load times and aid in organization, and is part of a larger group of deviations that expand Trichomanes sensu lato to subfamily level: https://www.inaturalist.org/taxa/142392/taxonomy_details
