She was laying in the burrow head first so I could see her back end. When I started talking to her, she turned around to see what was going on and that’s how I got the picture of her face :) mid 80’s at 1:51pm and sunny. A few hours later, there was whispy cloud cover but I don’t think it was enough to produce rain.

Incredible pattern and color.
Black looks thinner than normal giving the over all bright orange appearance.

Another very old observation and photographs - information was previously captured in my logbook. This one from 1992. The last photo is a habitat shot. The snake was crawling about 10 feet off the ground on the rock face in the photo. It was a crazy situation as I had been hiking around for hours looking for snakes (specifically Rosy Boas) and didn't see a thing. I returned to where my truck was parked, set my flashlight down to relieve myself, and while doing so, looked up at the rock wall and saw the Rosy climbing in a horizontal crack in the rock. Temp was 68 degrees.

Found on the trail basking. Thought it was dead at first, but very much alive, and delivered a few painless bites. Incredibly exciting, lucky find. By far the better of my two this season. Please help protect this fantastic population of lampros!

I was climbing Coatimundi Whiteout and about to get to the roof when I felt something slide through my fingers as I was about to make a hand jam. Turned out to be this snake, a few hundred feet off the ground, living its best life in a vertical crack.
