This specimen was captured in a vial at the same time as a Psocoptera. Within one minute, this fly was lying on its side and handling the Psocoptera between its legs. One minute later the Psocoptera was sucked dry and dropped.

I've been watching this shallow ephemeral pool for weeks, trying to figure out what the various tadpoles are going to become. This one is different than the ones I've seen before. The dorsal/ventral fins on it's tail are different. I still don't know what it is, but maybe someone will.

My first ever shot of damselflies completing their mating ring. The male clasps the female behind the head and then she curls her abdomen up to his and her eggs are fertilized. They often stay attached while she lays eggs by landing on bits of plants in the water. These look to be familiar bluets (Enallagma civile).
