Identification is tentative, is based on the colors of the desiccated and hydrated thallus.

On periodically inundated siliceous bedrock on the bank of Haw River.
For a goodly part of the year, this vertical rock face is underwater, with fish swimming by, and canoes and kayakers passing overhead.

This observation shows fairly well the tendency for this lichen, in age, to lift up from the rock face to become more three dimensional.

So a rare find indeed and at the grocery store 🏬 parking lot. Pretty sure this is albino considering the pink legs and white beak. Though hard to see if red existed in the eyes 👀 so maybe strong leusistic (sp)?

Decades ago, for my old, film, Minolta Camera and lenses, I purchased end-of-lens adapters for magnification. Yesterday I had the notion to hold these to the end of the lens of my Nikon Coolpix B500 to obtain higher magnification close-ups. This morning I put the idea to test, resultant in these photos (and of a Thuidium delicatulum observation).
