After the Wildlife Society conference, Elizabeth and I made quite a few stops on our way back to Dallas/Fort Worth.

I'm going to be uploading these in bulk but ID'ing them further later.

two very large trees of the high way

likely southernmost known naturally occurring redwood trees; spotted by drone flight due to inaccessibility from private landowner

This is the furthest north that I’ve seen this in the state now.

This is the real deal lechuguilla. They are in a weird location to have been planted any time recently, so I can’t imagine where they are from.

Single large tree in the bosque on the west side of the Rio Grande. Escaped walnut or pecan?

I am not sure which manzita species this plant is, it was located near upper calf falls.

northernmost Yucca schidigera I saw heading north up Rainbow Canyon. There are probably a few more farther north going up the slope, but this is close to perhaps the northernmost Mojave yucca.

One of the biggest I have seen, but not very accessible. Hoping for faxon but I don't know

This Yucca was giant, literally taller than me.

All of the flowers were blooming in the South side of the mound.

Look at those leaves! So cool.

I've noticed this Penstemon from the road. Went to investigate today, and it's Palmer's. I'm not sure this is native here, but several specimens are growing in this area.

on Paradise Rd

Entrance road to Kohl's Ranch off Hwy 260. No fresh flowers left. Looks a lot like Parry's Beardtongue but stems and leaves have a lot of red.
