Location: Janes Creek forest, Arcata ridge trail
Weather: high 50’s and cloudy, high humidity. Lots of rain in previous days
Habitat: Redwood/fir forest, lots of standing water on ground and creeks.
Found in grassy patch with seasonal pool right on waters edge under large log. Area was scattered with logs and barks and very wet. ID determined due to dappled pattern and large size. Found 5 feet from another Dicamptodon.

Weather: Overcast, low 60’s, high humidity, lots of rain in previous days.
Habitat: Moist redwood forest. Founder under a large log in a very wet area with some standing water.
Large size, brown coloring, and well defined costal grooves and parotoid glands point to Northwestern
