This is actually Muraltia rogersii - initially called by that name by both Levyns and Brown. Then later it appears to have been lumped together with M empleuridioides in the Levyns revision.
However it looks quite distinct with leaves shorter, closer spaced and more numerous than in empleuridioides and with a very noticeable recurved apex.
Low, prostrate or straggling plant, common on upper calcrete pavement at De Hoop. Is replaced by M satureioides in lower areas with deeper sand.

This population is much bigger than we estimated: thought a few hundred plants, but there are well over 1000. They have expanded over quite an area since the last fire, both up and down two gulleys (its prefered habitat in some areas) but also onto the spurs and beyond. Here we map the limits of this stand as at present.
