This is the first I remember with some white plumage.
A real hard family to get close to.

An Australasian Swamphen dynasty has taken up residence in the leaky bottom dam that has been more of a swamp than a dam this past 5 years of so. The parents make the chicks trek between the dam/swamp and a non-leaky, non-swampy dam top. Thank goodness they have long legs because it's quite a distance!

I'd say it was an odd-ball Straw-necked Ibis (Threskiornis spinicollis): juvenile with leucism. The head is still feathered, so it's a juvenile. Possibly a cross with a Th. molucca? Whatever, it's unusual.

Juvenile cuckoo being provisioned by Red-backed Fairywrens. Second photo shows the poor fairywren being briefly pinned by the cuckoo, just after delivering food - part of the typical BRCU post-feeding lunge manoeuvre.

These are blebs of a slime mould I have been calling Lamproderma 'umbilicatum'. They are forming on a Pomaderris apetala log north of 'big tree' stump.
The mature sporocarps superficially resemble Lamproderma, but the capillitium is more akin to Didymiaceae.
It is a new genus, and is currently being described.

This bird looks more "pure" grey than any I've seen for a while. The photos also show how the colour of the speculum changes with the angle of light. The mallard speculum also shows this purple colour sometimes, but when the angle of light changes, the true colour can be seen - blue for mallard, or in this case green for grey duck.
