🍠 Công dụng: Củ tươi giã nát dùng đắp mụn nhọt, dùng trong bị ngứa và người ta cho có chất độc nhưng khi nấu với vôi thì chất độc giảm hay mất đi. Người Nhật dùng tinh bột khoai nưa để ăn. Tinh bột khoai nưa còn có thể dùng nấu rượu. Củ còn dùng chữa rắn cắn.

This bird was caught by poachers and then escaped. It has a family nesting nearby. My local friend called the FPD and they assured us they would assist. The bird was exhausted and clearly desperate to get the tether off.

Around 7-8mm body length (legs not included). Eating mosquitoes in photos.
Update: After molting, the ant-like elongated chelicerae appeared. Including that, the body length is now roughly 1cm. Spider was released after.

This is the first record of an intermedius group Cyrtodactylus on Hon Son. The species is unclear, and we were unable to collect or find additional specimens. A paper (coauthored with Dr. Lee Grismer) was published in Zootaxa in September, 2023.
