Documenting a rare skink found by Angel Ramos this morning and conserved for identification purposes. Found under a water tank located in the edge of the pine-oak forest, around 1650 masl. Specimen preserved at Zamorano University.

This report pertains to the larger of the two bees that shared this thistle flower head. See next report for the smaller. I think these two are the same species, but I wonder why the large size difference? Location is close to the top of Cerro El Pital, above 2700 masl, on El Salvador side of border.

Esta foto la tome en una caminata e uno de los corredores biológicos de mi Universidad Zamorano, conocido como ecosendero. Lo que me llamo la atención de este animalito es us tamaño, es super pequeñito y para tomarle la foto acerque el zoom a un 100% para poder tomar la foto y en poderlo enfocar me demore como 30 minutos para tomar una buena foto.

Dense thickets of this shrub, with wrinkled woody stems, but no thorns, so possible to just push through them. Soft touch to the plant, not hard and sharp like a "carbón". None in flower, some with seed pods (like this one).

A small deciduous tree, only about 4 or 5 meters tall, in dense second-growth. Fruits yellow, appearing (superficially?) like small tomatoes. Only one such tree was observed during several hours in this habitat.
