Larva was first located on 9/8/2021, it was added to a container with Uraba lugens eggs and newly hatched larvae as a possible food source. As can be seen in the images the larva attached an empty wasp chrysalis to itself among other bits of detritus from the container. The larva seemed to have formed a Chrysalis by the 12/9/2021 and an adult was found in the container on 27/10/2021.

Steatoda grossa ​ egg sac incubation and spiderling emergence.

Egg sac incubation times have constantly interested me and I will always take up the challenge to photographically document the stages. This ​Steatoda grossa ​ egg sac was produced in my garage on the 25th June 2019 and the spiderlings started to emerge on the 21st July 2019, an incubation period of 27 days. It took 2hrs and 9 minutes for all the spiderlings to emerge from the egg sac. 5 days after emerging all spiderlings have dispersed bar a few stragglers.
