These 4 photos are of a bdelloid rotifer that I believe may be Abrochtha cf. sonneborni. The tentative identification is based on the number of teeth on the trophi. I count them as 5/6. They live in a small birdbath in the yard of my house. The photos of the feeding animal are video frames. The lateral view & the trophi are of 2 different specimens.

Extremely wet year in Iowa. A mud puddle on the side of a driveway developed a productive biofilm with lots of bubbles. Mostly Phormidium, which gave it a green sheen. Also contained some subaerial diatoms like Hantzschia amphioxis.
