優紅蛺蝶 (Vanessa atalanta)描述
I've had Great Stinging Nettle (Urtica dioica) in my wildlife garden for 30 years and this is the 1st chrysalis I've ever found. It was inside a large webbed-shut nettle leaf and I found it while working around the plant . . . spotted white & gold inside.

When we 1st noticed this gall on S. Red Oak (Quercus falcata) we thought ants were on the gall, they were so small. But then we realized that the gall had tiny wasps (we think) on it. Photo 1 shows the gall. Photo 2 shows the small S. Red Oak that it was on. Photos 3 & 4 show the tiny wasps that were associated with the gall.
