Photo taken while on a survey for Warea amplexifolia, fairly healthy populations in this location but the land plots are in urgent need of a prescribed burn. Populations in the past at this location have been in the thousands
As far as I know, this is one of if not my first introduction to native brassicaceae.
The lands are a remnant of the fragmented lake wales ridge. A bucket-list botany location.

Surprised to see this at this location. Unfortunately cones were not accessible but I can see them from the tree. I collected a sample of 20 needles, 19/20 were in three's and 1/20 was in a bundle of four. There were about 10 to 15 trees in a 50 yard radius.

Spotted and identified by Steve Woodmansee when we were walking back to the truck after working in the HID. This would be the first record for Miami-Dade according to the Florida Plant Atlas: https://florida.plantatlas.usf.edu/Genus.aspx?id=357
I almost convinced Steve to change the route we walked, which would have led us away from this area, so I'm glad he stuck to the original plan!

Seen while completing plant monitoring with Steve W in the Hole-in-the-Donut, Restoration Area 2003 in Everglades National Park. Location is accurate.
