College Inlet/Fjord, Alaska, USA. Glacier with constant calving.
Viewed from 40+feet up, so at least 12" diameter, probably more. I didn't recall much movement, but it was chilly.
I notice a differing amount of outer rounded-points on comparisons.

There were also large chunks of seaweed floating nearby. The cruise-ships stop about an hour, then do a very slow 180 turn near the end of the fjord. This stirs up all kinds of sea-life.

Rescued this Redhead today. It had a fishhook in its bill / face, and the fishing line it was attached to was frozen into the ice and the bird was trapped. Captured the bird, broke the fishing line, and then, with a friend, cut the fishhook in half and removed it from the duck's bill / face. It seemed vigorous and healthy. When we released it, it flew away strong and fast. Good deed done.

The original narrative:
Greater sunset bay area. This raccoon had distemper, was out in broad daylight on a jogging path. Not showing fear of people, bikes or dogs. Looked normal other than aimless until it had little seizures. This photo and 1 that I'll add are during seizures. I'll add one more looking normal. I did call 311 and reported it and it was picked up.

Info: BottleCats is the tag I use to track the ontogeny of lepidopterans in my backyard. Though bottled, they're wild caught caterpillars that naturally live and breed within our garden walls, so I consider them to be "wild," in terms of iNat labelling.

This is Pugsley - a Raccoon kit my wife and I raised and rehabilitated back to the wild in the mid-1990's. We found him at curbside, so young his eyes were barely open - attempting to nurse from his road-killed mother. We were so moved by the sad scene and knew we couldn't just leave him like that, so we wrapped him in an old towel and took him home. A friend who was a licensed Wildlife Rehabilitator talked us through the thoroughly enjoyable and heart-warming experience and process of raising this adorable little "rascal" into young adulthood, and returning him to the wild life he was always meant to live. Additional photos show his growth and forays into Nature during his 11 month stay with us - until it was time to wish him luck, and say "goodbye". Peace, "Puggie" - we'll never forget you!
