Six additional American Flamingos showed up at St. Marks NWR in the wake of Hurricane Idalia. The refuge currently hosts seven, with Pinky having blown in during Hurricane Michael in 2018 and staying on/off since.

With Valeri Ponzo; a successful chase of the Ruddy Shelducks that have frequented this area for more than 3 years. This was a stationary count. I forgot to record the weather, but it was sunny and probably around 80 degrees. We left at 1042 and headed to Ocala National Forest.
With 5 small ducklings!

I am not sure of the sub-species on this crane, Any help would be appreciated. It showed up with the Whooping Crane (not pictured) Image 2 shows the Florida Sandhill Crane on the right (it has the same coloration as the 100+ Sandhill Cranes roosting at this location).

Two carolina wrens having quite a tussle. Looked like a fight to the death to me! At first I thought they were just accidentally tangled together but a couple of times they separated briefly, then one went after the other, grabbing onto the other's leg with its claw.

Feral or escapee? Unknown. Word is there’s a game reserve near Lake Okeechobee. Though I’m not sure exactly where that reserve is. I saw this bird on the side of the road. Only one.
