This flower was found near the side of the road in Gerber, Ca. The flower did not have much of a scent. This plant is naturalized, and is usually seen in disturbed areas.
This Species was observed in Upper Bidwell Park. Upper Park is the northern section of the park and is characterized by a mix of oak woodland, chaparral, and grassland habitats. The type soil in the area is dry and rocky in the summers but allows for filtration of water in the winter months. This is typical of the chaparral and oak woodland habitats found in the area.
This plant was found on a slight slope about twenty feet from a tributary. The ground was saturated and moist with a lot of leaf litter. Poison oak, oak trees, and ferns were found near this plant. The weather was sunny with some clouds and cold.
Found in the woodland area at the Big Chico Creek Ecological Reserve at below 1,500ft. There is one Stem being seen as glabrous and approximately 5dm. Basal leaves blades are seen as hairy and 6cm wide. Flower colors are violet and blue with white appendages. Flower size is approximately 1cm.
