Found seeking refuge underneath a large rock in a pool in the mid-lower intertidal zone. It was very mobile on the sandy substrate after I lifted the rock.

Clumps of oysters and barnacles clung to whatever solid substrate protruded out of the sand all through the marsh. Likely partially or completely submerged at high tide.

Found near gate entrance of reserve. Found growing through dead branches of other plants

Found in the mudflats close to the water of the bay. They were all stuck together and alive.

Have to include our class favorite Lemonade Berry. Found on Guy Fleming Trail. Found near other chaparral plants, including other lemonade berry shrubs.

Seen in various places in reserve, especially along the Guy Fleming Trail. Individual patches seen around here

One flower observed of this one species. Found very low to the ground and exposed to a lot of sunlight.

Found spread out along trail. Few flowers found in each patch, but prevalent along trail. Small, bright orange flowers

Observed in shady region along trail. Underneath and surrounded by other plants.

This hydroid could be observed growing on many bean clams. The appendages of this organism could be seen sticking out from the wet sand of the intertidal sandy beach.

This flowering plant could be observed growing in the harsh upper zone of the beach, indicating it's hardiness and tolerance for high salinity levels.

Found on the more inland portion of the beach. Was growing in dry sand. Has thick green leaves.

Located in the very dry section of the beach furthest from the water, sheltered by a concrete wall.

Wrack located on the beach, exposed by lower tide.

Found at surf line, with small waves still washing over it. Appears to have died more recently.

Found wandering through the low surf. It would occasionally eat something from the sand when the waves went back towards the ocean.

Has two white spots on the back of its head. found within blades of grass.

found around a slope surrounded by grassland vegetation. Has black bulbs and has an aroma.
