Description: Free-living fern (terrestrial) presenting infertile fronds pinnate pinnatifid which are segmented twice, and the pinna base is segmented three times. with pinna segment pinnatifid. Pinnules with dentated margins with secondary veins that dichotomize once mostly in the middle portion of the pinnules. Pinnules are recurrent and with widths of 6 to 7 mm. Rachis present double thorns positioned upwards or to the distal portion of the frond. Thorns are positioned near the base of the midrib of each pinnule.

Previously identified in Cenci & Horodyski, 2023 as Megalastrum oreocharis, now identified as Pteris sp.
