Magellanic Clubmoss (Austrolycopodium magellanicum) It is a native Lycophyte (Class Lycopodiopsida) in the Clubmosses and Firmosses (Lycopodiaceae) family. It has long, erect, dull greenish-yellow strobili (terminal cones on erect stem). "A strobilus (pl.: strobili) is a structure present on many land plant species consisting of sporangia-bearing structures densely aggregated along a stem. Strobili are often called cones." The species grows in the mountains of Latin America from Costa Rica and the Dominican Republic south as far as Tierra del Fuego.
