About a hundred Metacarcinus gracilis (Graceful Crab) crawled on the sand near eelgrass in about 6" of water during the -3.2 tide. I was surrounded by 1"-3" crabs as I waded in my rubber boots. So many more than I'd ever seen before! The water was murky so I couldn't get photos, but here's one who crawled up onto kelp, another I briefly placed in a plastic container, both about 3" across. Also one of dozens of smaller molts higher up on the beach.
