These two little guys were spotted by @ladybug22 while we were looking for Juncus bryoides. These were the only two plants seen, but there almost surely were more since they are very hard to see.

The seeds have no visible striations, even at 30 x.
The # of perianth parts is always 6; it is much easier to count them under the microscope. The problem with counting the lobes in a photograph that doesn't quite have enough resolution is that the outer perianth is longer than the inner perianth, and sometimes almost obscures some of the inner perianth parts.
The fruit is absolutely mature for these samples now, since some capsules have already opened. So I can reliably say that the perianth is longer than the fruit capsule.
