What a difference a day can make. Bioblitz yesterday, can barely see the park today. First photo is bridge across Walnut Creek. Second photo is the Amphitheater. Usually 5 levels of seating only 2 above water today. Many parts of the trail are impassable. Had to go in a back way just to get out in the park.

Elizabeth and I stayed at the AMAZING Alamo Inn B&B -- geared towards bird watchers and a magnificent place (and relatively inexpensive too). I asked the innkeeper if I could put up a moth light, and she told me that someone nearby is documenting the moths in the area! Sweet! I went and pestered them, hung out for about 4 hours talking nature and philosophy, and photographed lots and lots and lots of cool new moths and bugs. :)

This was a somewhat frustrating part of our trip... I've heard so many good things about Sabal Palm Sanctuary that I really wanted to get down there... Alas, it's not too much fun when it's dumping lots of rain and the camera fogs up a bunch. Bummer! We'll have to return another time. Meanwhile, we did still manage to see some neat critters. :)
Neat little plant -- not sure what it is yet.
