More appropriately, Viola x palmata. Likely a cross between V. sororia and V. pedata.
Not a species recognized by FNA or NHIC. Considered a subspecies by both. I wish I got a picture of the underside of the leaves. The spadix kind of a fatter tube, not narrow with a fatter top. The spathe more ribbed in shape than the smoother Ontario subspecies, less red inside hood. The flange (folded over part at the top of the spathe near the bend) narrower.
