Found this little visitor who seemed to be on the prowl in the campground area looking for left-overs. It was one of several that we seen while walking through the campgrounds and they were not very shy around humans! This chipmunk looks very similar to the lest chipmunk but if you are in a coniferous forest and you see a chipmunk it is going to be a yellow-pine.

Found growing on the side of a log in a wetland habitat. Looks to be a mushroom, dark brown in the center and lightens towards the edges. Pattern looks like tree rings and shaped like a petal.

This yellowish fungus looks a lot like a brain because of the ridges running through the surface and it was squishy. It is no bigger than a bottle cap and was found in the swampy area by the lake.

Tree swallow I found sitting in a bird house along the Black River riparian trail in Renton. He is a shiny blue on top and white on bottom. When I got too close he flew away to a nearby tree and landed. He stayed there for a long time before flying away. One noticeable feature I saw was his extremely tiny beak and small yet noticeable forked tail.
