—ARIADNA—

  • Ariadna abrilae
  • Valparaíso (Petorca)
  • Ariadna araucana
  • Araucanía (Cauquenes) - Aysén (+ Chiloé)
  • Ariadna changellkuk
  • Coquimbo (Elqui) - Ñuble
  • Ariadna lalen
  • Maule - Araucanía
  • Ariadna levii
  • Valparaíso (Petorca) - Los Ríos (Valdivia)
  • Ariadna maxima
  • Antofagasta - Magallanes (+ Juan Fernandez Islands)

DIAGNOSIS

  • A. abrilae
  • is similar to A. maxima due to the leg macrosetae of females, but differ by its minute size and the anterior receptaculum with lobes with expanded and rounded tips, and the dorsal lobe sinuous.
  • A. araucana
  • is similar to A. lalen n. sp. due to the presence of reduced mid-portion in the male palp, and females with leg formula II-I-IV-III and absence of the median membranous crack in the interpulmonary fold; males of A. araucana differ from those of A. lalen n. sp. by the presence of sub-rectangular bulb, and mid-portion and embolus tapered; females of A. araucana differ from A. lalen n. sp. by the presence of an anterior receptaculum, flattened laterally, without incrassated regions.
  • A. changellkuk
  • is similar to (...) A. levii and (...) due to the dark abdominal pattern with arrow-shaped marks, but differ by presenting the cephalothorax and abdomen conspicuosly elongated, legs short relatively to its body size, and femur I–II with ventral macrosetae.
  • A. lalen
  • is similar to A. araucana due to the presence of reduced mid-portion in the male palp, and females with leg formula II-I-IV-III and absence of the median membranous crack in the interpulmonary fold; males of Ariadna lalen n. sp. differ from those of A. araucana by the presence of a subrectangular bulb, less rounded than A. araucana, with mid-portion and embolus markedly bended and thickened; females of A. lalen n. sp. differ from A. araucana by the anterior receptaculum, flattened laterally, with the dorsal region incrassated and rounded.
  • A. levii
  • Ariadna levii is similar to (...) A. changellkuk and (...) due to the dark abdominal pattern with arrow-shaped marks, but males differ by the presence of metatarsi I straight with two apophyses: one ventro-prolateral bearing a short and curved macrosetae, and a ventro-retrolateral one, with non-modified macrosetae; females are distinguished by the presence of a dorsal lobe longer than the ventral lobe
  • A. maxima
  • is similar to A. araucana and A. lalen n. sp. due to the morphology of the male metatarsi I and leg macrosetae pattern of females, but differ by the presence of a male metatarsi I sinuous in lateral view, and palps rounded, with the midportion and embolus with similar size; females differ by the anterior receptaculum billobulated, with a large median glandular ducts plate and interpulmonary fold with a dorsal median membranous crack.
