Cape Tulip begins to flower next month and more easily identifiable as a result

The Ministry for Primary Industries is asking gardeners to keep an eye out for a “pretty plant” that is highly toxic to people and animals.

Cape Tulip begins to flower next month and can easily spread, says Eric Janssen, media manager at the Ministry for Primary Industries.

Invasive pest mollusc clam found in New Zealand, keep an eye open for it - Corbicula fluminea, aka Freshwater Gold Clam/Asian Clam)

An invasive freshwater clam discovered in the Waikato River has the potential to destroy native habitats, clog water supplies and hydro dams, and infest Lake Taupō if not properly contained.
Please keep and eye open for it and contact MPI with any info. Please also post your observations
