Spring Melody
It's 4:38 pm on Sunday evening, November 25th. The sun sets in less than 20 minutes, but you wouldn't know, as the world has remained the same shade of drab, dim gray, all day. The TV in the other room beeps to let us know a snowstorm is drawing near for tomorrow. Outside, a few streets away, high in a treetop, a robin is singing it's spring melody. His song sounds so good. like hearing an old favorite song you haven't heard in a long time. Don't get too excited, winter has not even fully set in yet. I suspect that I won't see too much of that Robin after tomorrows weather.
There is something special about the birds in Hazel Park. I'm pretty sure I have never heard a robin sing that song this time of year.
