First observation of invasive feather duster worm Branchiomma luctuosum for Ionian Islands, coast of Epirus, Western Greece and Ambrakian Gulf
On 4th September 2023 we observed one species of the invasive fanworm "Branchiomma luctuosum" close to Preveza. The documentation took place in the narrow channel connecting the Ionian Sea with the Ambrakian Gulf, between the coast of Epirus and Western Greece. The water there is very cloudy like in the Ambrakian Gulf. We want to highlight this observation in the context of the importance of citizen sciene dectection of invasive species in the Mediterranean.
