-Take photographs of the different structures of the basidioma / ascoma / fruiting body / carpophor / mushroom (above, below and in profile), its stipe, pileo and base, in the case of removing the specimen without knowing it, you must commit to a detailed description to contribute to your knowledge and that it does not remain in a sample that is torn, photographed and discarded. In addition to removing it with substrate to know other characteristics of the base of the basidioma.
-It is important that you describe the dimensions (height and diameter), shape, consistency, texture, color and smell. Remember that the specimens change a lot according to their stage of development, so it is ideal to become familiar with the area and season in which they grow, to monitor and observe the phenotypic variability of the basidioma or ascoma (fruiting body).
