Naturalist is a good way to describe myself. My graduate work focused on salt marsh ecology in southeast Georgia where I gained an interest in botany. I was fortunate enough to strengthen my botany skills during my time employed in Missouri by the Missouri Ozark Forest Ecosystem Project. Currently, as a professional biologist, the focus of my career for the past 15 years has been agricultural entomology (11 of those years in western Kansas). The focus of my interests during my time in western Kansas has been on native plants/plant communities, ants, tiger beetles, odonates and wild bees. I am a member of the Kansas Native Plant Society and an avid native plant enthusiast/native plant gardener.
