I'm an amateur naturalist who is between High School and College and I'm using inaturalist to get better at identification and to learn the many species of the world around me. I used to volunteer off and on at a place called the Butterfly Pavilion in Colorado which has given me a much wider understanding of the arthropod world. I've also worked in the arachnology lab at the Denver Museum of Nature and Science where I learned how to identify spiders.
My primary life goals aside from being an entomologist/arachnologist is to see 10,000 different identifiable species and then once that is accomplished-- 20,000. I also want to see at least one individual from every insect order and from each of the extant arachnid groups. All of these sightings must also be done in the wild.
Recently spent 6 months at a research station in Peru where I was studying arachnids, herps, birds, mammals, and butterflies.
I am also currently working on a guide to springtails of North America north of Mexico.
Insect orders 23/27
Arachnid groups 12/17
