I'm a soil ecologist and macrophotographer from the UK, now based in Christchurch, NZ, where I'm currently employed as a post-doc at the University of Canterbury.

My research specialism is the ecology of earthworms (Lumbricidae) and soil microarthropods (particularly Collembola and Acari). I'm particularly interested in these taxa as indicators of environmental change/land management, and their relationships to above and below-ground ecosystem functions. In my spare time I document soil fauna with my camera, for science communication purposes (and because they're strangely beautiful creatures!).
