Hi Everyone! Giants of Nova Scotia is a project I started in 2018 to raise awareness about the non-native invasive species called HWA (Hemlock Woolly Adelgid) that was recently found in Nova Scotia and poised to have a major impact on our forest.

I am expanding the project thru iNaturalist to include large, old trees found across the province. Our forests have seen many disturbances over the years but there still are some excellent candidates. And someday, knowing where these trees are located my be very important.

So if you come across some 'Giants' in your travels throughout the province, please add them to the project. Thank you!
