Just a Hokie exploring Texas!

In 2017 I graduated from Virginia Tech with a bachelor's degree in Natural Resource Conservation with concentrations in Recreation Management and Environmental Education. I'm passionate about teaching others about the environment and the importance of protecting it.

After graduation I left the mountains of Virginia for DFW. I spent two years working for the City of Grapevine's Parks and Recreation Department as the Environmental Education Specialist. In June of 2019 I became the Outdoor Experience Programs Coordinator for the City of Southlake's Community Services Department. The majority of my adventures are at Bob Jones Nature Center and Preserve.

BJNCP provides an opportunity for visitors of all ages to develop a sense of place and appreciation for the plants and animals that have called Southlake home long before any of us. I am continuously amazed at the amount of wildlife at BJNC. Hearing guests of all ages express how much they care about the wildlife we encounter is so encouraging and what gets me most excited about my job.
