I have worked as a weeds biocontroller at ARC-PPR for most of my career. For the last decade or so, my projects involved finding, testing, releasing and assessing biocontrol agents against various cactus species. Some of my earlier work was on river red gum (Eucalyptus camaldulensis), bugweed (Solanum mauritianum) and lantana (Lantana camara). Since my retirement end of March 2019, when I officially retired from ARC, I have been employed by the Centre for Biological Control at Rhodes University as a temporary researcher. I am now retired.
