I was born and raised in Transylvania, Romania and I fell in love with nature as a child, as I spent all my vacations at my grandparents’ in the mountains. We would go and harvest hay the traditional way, intensive manual labor. We went foraging for mushrooms, berries, medicinal plants. In 2007 I moved to the Washington DC area and I started observing nature around me. So many new things, and also many familiar ones.
