I am a member of the Texas Master Naturalist program, Elm Fork Chapter, having trained with the Gulf Coast Chapter in 2014, and am also a member of the Native Plant Society of Texas, Trinity Forks Chapter. Until retiring in 2020, I taught English and Humanities at Lee College, where I was an instructor for thirty-one years. Before moving to North Texas in 2021, I was a lead volunteer at Exploration Green, a 200-acre nature park located on the former site of the Clear Lake City Golf Course.
