Casual observer who is curious to learn what I'm looking at! I like to ID unknowns and can also recognize a few of the more distinctive plants of Illinois (woohoo for unique spring woodland flowers!). I take great satisfaction when a bird or butterfly get rescued from sitting for months with no ID to a research grade species ID simply because I labeled it "aves" or "lepidoptera"
