I have been interested in the natural world my whole life. I have been a birder for more than 5 decades but worked as a botanist for most of my career. I am also very interested in many groups of insects, reptiles and amphibians, etc., etc. So, as I often say, I make a lousy specialist!

I am currently located on the Canadian Shield near Almonte, Ontario, where I moved in 2012.
