I have been studying the native cacti of Nicaragua since 2009. In am usually in the seasonally dry, premontane, and oak/pine forests.

A couple years ago I realized I had found most of the cacti species in the northern mountains so I expanded my project to include peperomias, agaves, and bromeliads.

Recently I adopted a Study Area on Hwy 35B between the Panamerican Hwy and the Rio Esteli. I walked the area on both sides of the road and photographed everything I found of interest. That was in late wet season in Dec. of 2023. I need to repeat the process in the dry season.

I also visit NW Arizona/ far Southern Nevada every year where I do some field study.
