I started birdwatching over 20 years ago after I wondered about a bird I saw at a local park - a dark eyed junco. By going out and looking for birds, I got interested in in the various ecosystems that we have in California - we have it all in our one state: desert, mountains, chaparral, redwood and giant sequoia forests, riparian zones, and the coast.
